Construction of the building began in mid-1910 and cost nearly doubled from the original $9200 estimate. The original nine-inch-thick building has since been remodeled twice and has a false ceiling extension on the front of the building. While the new facade has modern conveniences and features, the original architecture remains. The Williamson Museum is home to an impressive array of art and history collections. It is also a place for the community to meet new friends.
