Micro Piles
Micro piles is the name we use for our own steel push piers when access is tight: crawl spaces, interior openings, or a narrow side yard. Same in house manufactured pier, same load bearing depth, installed with compact hydraulic equipment.

What to Know About Micro Piles
Micro piles is the name QFR uses for its own steel push piers when they go in where a full sized rig cannot: tight crawl spaces, interior access points, restrictive property lines. The pier is the same in house manufactured steel push pier, driven in sections with compact hydraulic equipment to the same load bearing strata, so the specification and the warranty tiers are the ones on our push pier page. What changes is the equipment footprint, not the system.
How We Install Micro Piles
A clear path from inspection to finished work.
Free Inspection
Settlement is mapped and the access constraints are recorded.
Pier Layout
Steel push pier placement is engineered to load-bearing points and sized for the access available.
Installation
Pier sections are driven hydraulically with compact equipment to load-bearing strata.
Lift
The foundation is stabilized to its maximum practical level.
Finish
Access points are patched, pressure readings and warranty tier documented.
"We install steel piers down to resistance, which around here is usually bedrock. Average pier depth is 16 feet."

Learn moreMicro Piles and Central Texas Clay
Austin's expansive Blackland clay shrinks in dry summers and swells after rain, cycling in volume with every wet and dry season. Homes built on this clay can experience ongoing movement as the soil expands and contracts. Where that movement shows up depends on the home and foundation type.
